Šibenik for the second time becomes the center of the Mediterranean and the city of Mediterranean flavors, as the 2nd Festival Taste the Mediterranean begins 28-31/5/2015.

This unique gastronomic and cultural event is held under the French festival Rendez-vous. On this occasion, three world-famous chefs crowned by Michelin stars will visit Croatia for the first time, which will contribute to the promotion of Croatia and Šibenik on the world cultural and gastronomic scene.

Today, on the official announcement of the festival, Šibenik’s Mayor Dr. Željko Burić, hosted Ms. Michèle Boccoz, Ambassador of the Republic of France in Croatia, Alemka Lisinski, selector of the festival of France in Croatia “Rendez-vous” and Ingrid Badurina Danielsson, director of the festival “Taste the Mediterranean”.

“This is not only the announcement of the second season of “Taste the Mediterranean”, but the story of a cultural and culinary collaboration between Croatia and France that takes place in Šibenik. Thanks to last year’s efforts through the first festival and serious story that will develop this year, our city became the center of historical, cultural and gastronomic events between the two countries”, said Burić.

“The aim of the festival which will take place 28th-31st May, is the promotion of the Mediterranean diet, culture and tradition, and a special emphasis on French gastronomy. Most of the festival program will be held in the magical atmosphere of the recently renovated St. Michael fortress, which was named the Croatian cultural attraction in 2014, while in the city center will be organized Mediterranean market with products of local and foreign manufacturers”, said Ingrid Badurina Danielsson, project director of the Festival, presenting this year’s program.
