Giant French picnic at Maksimir park

Among the various events planned for the festival of France in Croatia, this giant picnic will aim at gathering a thousand people to take part in a popular festivity, on September, 19th. A picnic in the late summer seems to be an ideal way of including families with children in the festival. The picnic will take place near Velika Pozornica, a wide area at the end of the park’s main path, on the annual official “Maksimir Park Day”, which gathered 4 000 people last year. Participants will pay a small amount of money to get a French packedlunch and will be asked to wear red, blue and white, to celebrate the colors of both French and Croatian flags. A band will play French music during the picnic.
This event will mark the beginning of the “Maksimir Park Day”, which will include many other events, like a performance by Lado, a concert by Zagreb Philharmonics with a French touch, exhibitions, guided tours…
