Olaf Johan Pedersen

Olaf Johan Pedersen is from the island of Røst in Lofoten, Northern Norway, and grew up in a family that has been producing stockfish for more than 120 years. He has been involved in stockfish production and business from an early age. He studied business at the Norwegian Business School in Oslo, followed by a specialisation in fisheries economics and seafood marketing at the University of Bodø.

From 2005 to 2007, he worked for the Norwegian Seafood Council in Milan, focusing on the Italian and Croatian markets. He later served as CEO of the stockfish producer Glea on Røst from 2007 to 2019. Since 2019, he has been responsible for developing Tørrfisk fra Lofoten PGI in Italy and Croatia – two markets that together account for around 90% of Norwegian stockfish exports.
