Biography
Krunoslav Cukrov is an olive grower from the island of Brač. Ten years ago, in the small village of Škrip, the oldest place on the island, he restored the old family oil mill, which was founded way back in 1864 by his grandparents, Kruno and Mandica Krstulović. Krunoslav also opened the unique “Muzej uja” (Museum of olive oil).
His wish was to present to the visitors, and especially to the foreign guests, the tradition of olive oil production on the island. The museum contains all the old tools for pressing olives, for the production and transportation of olive oil. But it is also a place where you can taste not only olive oil, but simple snacks that are part of local specialties.
Krunoslav is the Winner of the gold plaque of the city of Supetar for his contribution to culture, and the “Branko Škarica” lifetime achievement award in the oil industry, by the cooperative association of Dalmatia. Together with his family, he runs the “Muzej uja” and the tasting room. A representative of the Ministry of Culture at the 1st Congress on the Mediterranean diet in Chile, he is especially dedicated to the topic of preserving the Mediterranean diet through museum activity.
