Joze Tomaš

President Joze Tomaš was born in Australia, and as a child moved back to Croatia where he started his education and later his professional career.

First, he climbed the ladder of the hospitality industry starting as a waiter, very soon the restaurant manager, yacht club manager, hotel operations manager, hotel manager, and finally the CEO of one of the most prestigious hotel companies in Croatia. After a long and prosperous career in the hotel and hospitality businesses in Croatia and abroad he decided to use his vast experience in business and the real sector in order to improve the business conditions for companies through the position of the president of Croatian Chamber of Economy – Split County Chamber, and as the current president of the AIC Forum.

During his professional life he received numerous awards, starting again in hospitality with bronze, silver and golden awards in numerous bar and catering categories, later the hotel he managed and he as a manager received several awards of the Hotel and Manager of the Year, and many more domestic and international awards in business and hospitality industry. The most recent award he received on the 30th of August this year is in recognition of the work he carried out with dedication and passion and for his commitment to strengthening cooperation in the Adriatic and Ionian region as the president of the Forum of the Adriatic and Ionian Chambers of Commerce.

He is exceptionally passionate about business, networking, and human resources, and is involved in many associations as member, board member, vice president or president. He takes special interest in following the trends of hospitality industry, with emphasis on gastronomy, oenology etc.
