President of the Association of Hospitality Activities of the Croatian chamber of commerce Dujkin dvor restaurant · Split · Croatia

Biography
Jelena Tabak is the President of the Association of Hospitality Activities of the Croatian chamber of commerce and she is also the owner of the restaurant Dujkin dvor in Split. This experience helped her to understand and articulate the problems of her fellow restaurateurs not only during the COVID pandemic, when she was the president of the National Association of Restaurateurs, but today as well at the time of excessive tourism.
Although she is a professional translator for English and Italian and works as a permanent court interpreter for those two languages, tourism has been her interest ever since she became a guide in a travel agency, fifteen years ago. A woman with an entrepreneurial spirit presents herself as a tourist worker more than a restaurateur. Her goal was not only to open her restaurant but to spread the story of the culture of Split, to revive the spirit of the old town and the cultural heritage written in Varoš, the former quarter of Split farmers and fishermen.
Her latest initiative is the Meštrović plate in Dujkin dvor: during one week she will offer her guest the meals that Olga Meštrović, the wife of the great sculptor, prepared for her family.
