Daniel Čečavac

Biography

Daniel Čečavac is known to the general public as a television personality, who presents interesting wine stories in the specialized program Fino&Vino, describing in a professional but simple way the characteristics of the most attractive wines from Croatia and neighbouring countries.

But Daniel Čečavac is first and foremost one of Croatia’s top sommeliers, who obtained the highest, 4th degree from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) in London and the prestigious title of Weinakademiker at the Weinakademie in Rust, Austria. The success is all the greater when you know that there are a total of 900 Weinakademikers in 45 countries around the world.

Seven years ago, in cooperation with the Grabovac winery from Imotski, he created his own wine brand, Jeka riserva, and a year earlier he founded the Wine Club Croatia, for wine consulting in the hospitality industry, creation of wine lists, for the education of catering staff and professional wine tastings.

He runs courses on pairing wine and food and organizes wine tours for professionals and wine lovers. He is also a professor at the new Faculty of Gastronomy and Hotel Management of the University of Split, based in Makarska, where he teaches students an introduction to oenology and sommelier course, as well as a course on world wines.
