Biography
Chef Mate Sučić has been in the culinary field for 12 years. Starting his own tavern was his lifelong dream. He opened Konoba Campanelo in 2021 as a small family restaurant, in the Dalmatian countryside. This is a place where he cooks traditional local dishes in a unique way. The restaurant got its name from the Zvonik hill (Belltower hill), which is located below the tavern.
Although he belongs to the young generation, Mate is already a multiple award-winning chef. He won the Gault & Millau Croatia trophy for the young talent of the year 2023, the Golden Boula for the young chef in 2023, in Šibenik. He participated in numerous gastronomic festivals and was hosted by famous Croatian and foreign chefs. He also likes to invite in his restaurant the top Croatian and international chefs
