Biography
The young Portuguese chef João Alves is known to numerous guests who came to dinners or receptions at the Portuguese Embassy in Zagreb. Everyone enjoyed his interpretations of traditional Portuguese dishes.
Born in 1993 in Lisbon, the chef gained his first culinary experience at the ELEVEN restaurant. It is a famous Lisbon restaurant that has a Michelin star and where, as a chef, he was in charge of the mise en place and the preparation of the main dishes. Given the high standards of the Eleven restaurant, Chef Alves, as he says, has developed a serious professional ethic that has become an integral part of his job.
At the Taste the Mediterranean Festival, together with chefs from other Mediterranean countries, he will prepare a joint dinner at the Fish Market in Split, and will present a typical Portuguese dish.
