Biography

“I work as a chef at Jasmin a Maslina, a restaurant I started 5 years ago in Novi Sad. We offer fine dining with a warm and friendly vibe of the Balkans. We serve a set menu for lunch and dinner paired with the best regional wines. Our connections with local wineries, wine promoters and wine lovers are carefully cultivated over years. I am tirelessly on a lookout for the tastiest locally sourced groceries. We see our vendors and our guests as an extended family, a community passionately in love with life. I studied in an Art School for Graphic Design and then I chose Philosophy at the University of Novi Sad, but finished Economic studies. Before I became a chef and an entrepreneur I was a tax inspector and a mom of four. Former taught me how to listen to people and hear what they really need and the latter taught me how to do magic in the kitchen. It helped a lot that my good friend and best man at my wedding was Bane Zakić, the legendary Serbian chef. At the beginning I opened a Pasta lovers club in a private apartment but it became very soon a restaurant. Today in my Jasmin a Maslina I love to create a unique culinary experience for my guests, preparing original set menus and new dishes.”

The selection of excellent ingredients and the creation of dishes together with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere soon strengthened the restaurant’s reputation abroad. In the words of one guest: “They told me that I cannot leave Serbia until I eat at your place”.

The restaurant Jasmin a Maslina is rated 14.5/15 in the Gault & Millau Serbia 2023 and has 2 toques.
